The table below shows the 2015 deadlines for filing 2014 tax returns, as well as deadlines for tax extensions. One important thing to note is that you are able file your 2014 tax returns anytime after the start of the year, but the IRS will not file any paper or electronic returns until the IRS e-file servers go live on January 20, 2015. 2014 tax return dates
Like every year, April 15th is the tax deadline. However, the IRS offers an option to request a 6-month extension that moves the filing deadline to October 15th. The quickest and most accurate way to file 2014 tax return and receive your refund is to e-file.

|October 15, 2015||Filing extended 2014 federal and state income returns. Note: you still need to file for an extension by April 15th|
|April 15, 2018||Filing a 2014 tax amendment. You can file an amended or previous year tax return anytime, but you have a deadline of 3 years from the original due date to claim any tax refund.|
