First IRS Payout Date set on Where’s My Refund 2017

First IRS Payout Date set on Where’s My Refund 2017

We have many confirmations this morning that Where’s My Refund did update and many individuals have their first 2016 direct deposit date set for Friday, January 27th, 2017. This goes perfectly with our 2017 Refund Schedule. The IRS has approved many individuals who filed on or before January 20th, 2017. So far all reports have come from early filers who filed between the 4th of January and the 20th of January 2017. This is during the testing phase, so do not worry if you did not make this first IRS payout date. Please check Where’s My Refund today to see your status.

Did you 2017 direct deposit date not get set yet? If you were accepted after January 20th, 2017, we estimate your direct deposit date to be set next week. Also, just because the IRS doesn’t update your Where’s My Refund page, doesn’t mean that you will not get your tax refund Friday January 27th, 2017. The IRS cannot always get to every taxpayers WMR, so just wait for a Direct Deposit in your bank account.

Quick FAQ about IRS Payout Date being set for early filers:

Q: Does the IRS ever issue direct deposits and tax checks without updating Where’s My Refund?

A: Yes, the IRS has been known to do this every year. At least in the first month of e-filing.

Q: Should I be concerned if I early filed and have not been accepted yet?

A: No, this is only the very first reports of Where’s My Refund Updating. The IRS may continue updating their website over the next two days. Also, sometimes the IRS will split up the first few payouts in half weeks to let the Treasury better handle the depositing workload. I would not be concerned until after the second payout date(February 5th, 2016.)

Q: Me and my friend filed on the same day this year. My friend was approved yesterday and I was not. How is this possible?

A: Even though you and your friend were both in the processing stage, doesn’t mean you will both end up in the production stage. This is the stage where Refund Dates are set, also not everyone has their Where’s My Refund updated before receiving their refund.

Q: I was able to put my 2016 Tax Return Transcript, does this mean I will get my refund earlier?

A: No, the IRS has said many times that your transcript in no way impacts when you will get your refund. It is basically part of the processing stage(being accepted, not approved.)

Q: Why are people who filed after me being approved before me?

A: Every tax return is different, some have different forms, forms are handled differently so no tax return is the same. No taxpayer can compare their tax return to another’s or the Direct Deposit Date with another.
